Kryvyi Rih, Kyiv, Sumy…
In the evening of April 4, 2025, Russia struck a residential district of Kryvyi Rih with an Iskander ballistic missile. The attack killed 19 people and injured 75. 29 apartment buildings, 6 educational institutions, a restaurant, and more than 30 vehicles were damaged.
Russian propaganda is saying that it was a precision strike on a restaurant where a commanders’ meeting was taking place. But the truth is that the restaurant was hosting a Beauty Business Forum and a birthday celebration that day.
On the playground near that restaurant, 10 adults and 9 children tragically died. Among the other injured, the youngest child was only 3 months old. Maybe for you these are just numbers – but for Ukrainians it’s real grief. Residents bring children’s toys and flowers to that playground to honor the memory of the victims.

“Russia must be held accountable for everything they have done, and we need to put pressure on them there – really put pressure, not waste time in an empty talk – to end this war.” – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
“Horrified that tonight a ballistic missile struck near a playground and restaurant in Kryvyi Rih … This is why the war must end.” – US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink
“These Russian strikes must stop. A ceasefire must be reached as soon as possible. And strong action must follow if Russia continues to stall and reject peace.” – French President Emmanuel Macron
Overnight from April 5 to 6, Russia launched 23 missiles and 109 drones against Ukraine. This time, Kyiv was the main target. Sunday morning in the capital began with a series of explosions at 5 a.m. One person died and 3 were injured. Fires broke out in non-residential buildings, including a furniture factory and a business center. Also, 8 cars were damaged. Missiles that were not shot down hit three districts of the Kyiv region.
“The number of air attacks is increasing. This is how Russia shows its true intentions – to continue the terror as long as the world allows it. Over the past week, they have launched more than 1,460 guided aerial bombs, almost 670 attack drones and more than 30 missiles of various types against Ukrainian cities and villages, our people, more than two dozen of them tonight. Every strike is against our people, children. They are fighting against children playing in playgrounds. My condolences to all relatives and friends of the victims. Thank you to all our services that help and rescue Ukrainians.” – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
Strikes also hit the Mykolaiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Cherkasy regions that night. Is it Putin’s response to all international diplomatic efforts? Russia will continue terror as long as the world allows it.
April 13, 2025, on Palm Sunday – a Christian holiday – Russian terrorists launched a missile attack on Sumy. The city center. During the work of rescuers – another missile. 32 people died (including 2 children) and 99 people were injured (including 11 children).

The trolleybus was driving not far from the epicenter of the strike. A fatal trip from church… This is real terrorism – to strike the city center on the weekend, when we did not even have time to sound the alarm.
“Palm Sunday is a day of peace. This morning, as people gathered to pray, Russia bombed Sumy, killing and injuring civilians. Moldova mourns with Ukraine and urges more air defense to save lives.” – Moldovan President Maia Sandu
This is one of the deadliest strikes by Russia in recent months. The target was the Congress Center of Sumy State University, where a performance for children was taking place that day.
What do the Russians say? They claim that the university building was also used as a site for various military headquarters. And that the target could be a military meeting or conference. Such statements were made because of the “presence of army pickups at the site of the attack”. Please note that the city of Sumy is the regional center, which is about 30 km from the border.
“It’s been two months since Putin ignored America’s proposal for a complete and unconditional ceasefire. Unfortunately, they there, in Moscow, are sure that they can afford to continue killing. We need to act to change the situation.” – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy
On May 17, 2025, a Russian Lancet drone struck a civilian minibus near Bilopillia, Sumy region, killing 9 people, including a family of three, and injuring 7 others, just hours after inconclusive Russia-Ukraine peace talks in Turkey. The minibus, evacuating mostly elderly women from a frontline area, was deliberately targeted at 6:17 a.m., despite clear civilian markings, Ukrainian officials report. President Zelenskyy condemned the attack as a “deliberate killing of civilians,” while Russian state media falsely claimed it hit a “military staging area.” The strike, one of the deadliest in recent weeks, underscores Russia’s ongoing targeting of civilians, prompting calls for stronger sanctions and air defenses.

On May 25, 2025, Russia launched a massive overnight assault on Ukraine, firing nearly 300 drones and 70 missiles, striking 22 locations across Odesa, Sumy, Kyiv, and other regions. At least 4 civilians were killed and 16 injured in the Kyiv region, with residential buildings, schools, and power lines damaged. Ukrainian air defenses intercepted some targets, but civilian areas were heavily hit. President Zelenskyy condemned the strikes as “relentless terror,” urging global action for advanced air defenses. Russia claimed military targets, but evidence confirms civilian infrastructure was struck.

Tragedy after tragedy overtakes Ukraine – because Russia allows itself any war crimes. Will the world forgive these crimes? Will there be decisive action from the governments of the most powerful countries? We will see. In the meantime – Ukrainians will fight for life and justice. With your help!!!
